Donations – Not fodder for a Landfill!

Why Donations?

Do you have perfectly usable items you no longer need: housewares, clothing, shoes, furniture, building materials, kitchen appliances, books, cell phones, or eyeglasses? These items can be donated to a number of community-based organizations that collect them on a regular basis and put them to good use. Not only do you allow these items to be reused by someone else but you keep them from ending up in a landfill!

If any item is broken, torn, or not functioning, it should be thrown in your general trash collection.

Below is a list of those organizations:

• BetterWorldBooks - Book donations.
• Goodwill Industries - Clothing and other items.
• Various Lions Club-Local Club Finder - Eyeglass donations.
• Restore Store - Household items.
• Salvation Army - Various items.
• St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Joseph County - Various items.
• Also, look for community-based clubs or schools who periodically have various collection drives.

Please support these agencies with your donations!

Since these agencies are so readily available, the District will NO LONGER have collections of these items as we have done in the past.
