In celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, District staff attended the annual Earth Day event at Howard Park, South Bend, Saturday, April 23rd. The District handed out " 500 tomato plants and seed packets; and fifty (50) Earth Day t-shirts through our free drawings ".

The District also sponsored the "What Recycling Means to Me" art contest. Bicycles were awarded to two winners from the participating entries. The winners were Eric Bueno of North Liberty, IN and Austin Cashara of South Bend, IN (pictured below with bicycle).
